Division: 'Determining the number of sets or the size of the sets'

FractionsA division question always has two parts - a 'dividend' (the number being divided up), and a 'divisor' (the number dividing up the dividend). The divisor is the number of equal sets or parts you want. The result of a division is also called the 'quotient'.

Division is the operation of arithmetic that is most likely to give people difficulty! Division is the inverse of multiplication but while multiplication seems easy to understand, division can be much trickier.

It doesn't need to be this way. Our FREE division exercises will help show you why.
