Addition
Adding is the most basic of operations, or at least the easiest to understand. "I have two apples. I get three more. How many apples do I have now?"
Subtraction
Subtraction is often described as finding the 'difference'. The result of a subtraction operation is the difference between those two numbers.
Multiplication
We can think of multiplication as repeated addition. Students in early elementary school are taught multiplication in this way.
Division
Division is the inverse of multiplication but while multiplication seems easy to understand, division can be much trickier.
Fractions
Fractions are everywhere, from recipe instructions to business reports. Fractions can be used to indicate parts of a thing or proportions of a quantity.
Geometry
